Bellevue Christian Church works to provide varied opportunities for people to meet and encounter Jesus. Our worship services include a variety of music styles, video, and drama. We also celebrate everything from answers to prayers, to new babies, to successes and life milestones, to new members to the Kingdom of God. Our service features a mix of contemporary praise and traditional music, Chancel Choir, ensembles, and occasional guest musicians. As Disciples of Christ, we celebrate communion in remembrance of Christ each Sunday. All are welcomed to share in this celebration.

Infant and Toddler Care for those from birth through three years is provided at both Sunday services (and at most special services).

Bellevue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) exists to bring people to Jesus and membership in His family, to teach and to help them to grow, to nurture and care for each other, and to minister to the wider community in order to magnify God’s name.

Jesus has been recorded as saying, “I am the way, the truth, the life.” For the past nearly 2,000 years, people have recorded the benefits of living as Jesus teaches. Indeed, living such a life offers strength, endurance, and a peace that passes all understanding . . . and there is so much more.

Bellevue Christian Church is committed to equipping folks so that they can learn about Jesus and his teachings. We begin simply with our infants and toddlers, demonstrating Jesus’ care and love. We equip our children through song, story, crafts, recreation, and opportunities to reach out to their friends, relatives, and neighbors. Our adults have several opportunities to study the Bible and wrestle with how to apply it to different aspects of their lives.

At Bellevue Christian, we approach equipping ministries with the understanding that we are life-long learners and that no one has the market on knowledge or “truth.” Whether you have a question you can’t answer or just want to know more, we can, and want to, be of service to you.

Bellevue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) exists to bring people to Jesus and membership in His family, to teach and to help them to grow, to nurture and care for each other, and to minister to the wider community in order to magnify God’s name.

Shortly after Jesus came back from the dead, he met with his close friend Peter. Three times Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love me?” The third time Peter answered, “Lord you know all things; you know that I love you.” Then Jesus directed Peter to “Feed my sheep,” going on to explain: “I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” (recorded in chapter 21, verses 17-18, of the Bible’s book of John)

Bellevue Christian Church's Fellowship Ministries embrace the value of hospitality and care. After Sunday church service there is time for visiting and making new friends while enjoying beverages and snacks. The Ministry also facilitates Dine Around groups pairing members and guests into clusters, meeting in homes enjoying a monthly meal and fellowship. They regroup every 3 to 4 months to foster new friendships. Other opportunities for gathering include an annual Easter Brunch and Thanksgiving Dinner (Sunday before Thanksgiving). There are Family FunFests and numerous concerts spread throughout the year that bring together families of children from our church and community.

But caring means more than fun for us at Bellevue Christian Church. Our Stephen Ministry, launched in June of 2002, links highly trained Stephen Ministers with those who are experiencing changes or challenges in their lives. Our Homebound and Hospital Ministries respond with visits to those in hospitals for surgeries and illnesses, and to those finding themselves moving into new stages of life, whether short-term or on-going.

And then there are our Prayer Ministries. Prayer is at the core of everything we do at Bellevue Christian Church. We have a prayer group which meets after our service to review and pray for prayer requests from the congregation. Our prayer chain energizes the prayer power of the congregation for prayer emergencies during the week.

Local Efforts

Eastside Literacy: Helps adults gain literacy skills needed to be self-sufficient. Trained volunteer tutors provide individual tutoring in basic literacy skills, GED exam preparation, and English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) instruction - free to any adult who needs to learn how to read, write and communicate in English.

Hopelink: The Eastside's largest human services agency with 40 programs to help the disadvantaged including food banks, emergency shelter, homeless prevention, traditional housing, heating assistance, family development, transportation and child development.

Overlake Service League: OSL uses our church several times a year for two major purposes 1. Distributing food and household supplies on a monthly basis to needy families. 2. Gathering food and gifts for the needy at Thanksgiving and Christmas. BCC adopts several families for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Together We Build: By working together with people of many faiths, barriers are broken and understanding grows. In 2002 Bellevue Christian joined with Scared Heart Catholic Church, Temple B'nai Torah, Ithna-Asheri Muslim Association of the NW (IMAN), and Saint Joseph Catholic Church in the world's first interfaith effort to plan for and build four houses for Habitat for Humanity. This interfaith effort increased to 13 faith communities who joined together in a second project in 2003. Plans for the 2007 Build will soon be announced on the TWB web site.
