Let Your Light Grow and Shine!

Pastor Mike has invited us to allow the Light of the fruit of the Spirit to grow in our lives in 2008. Each month he will highlight one of the themes of the Light of God’s Spirit. In February, being the month of Valentine’s Day, he thought he would highlight Love. Click here for this month’s meditation.

World Religions in the Fireside Room

Pastor Mike leads a Sunday School class on the topic of world religions. This class in the Fireside Room in the Admin Wing each Sunday at 9:30 AM. Come and join in the lively discussion of some of the great religions of the world.

Midweek Bible Study

Our Wednesday Bible Study every Wednesday at 10 AM. Pastor Mike is leading a study on the book of Acts of the Apostles.

“Handle With Care” Summer Camp

Yes, camps are just around the corner!! Before you know it, school will be over and camping season will begin. This year’s theme for the region’s camps is “Handle with Care”. If you have a child, or know of a child, who is interested in attending a camp, get them registered early.

Dates for this year’s camps at Gwinwood are (grades are for coming school year):

Kids Camp grades 2 and 3 June 30 - July 3

Junior Camp grades 4, 5 and 6 August 11 - 16

Chi Rho Camp grades 7, 8 and 9 July 28 - Aug 2

CYF Camp grades 10, 11, 12, Grads July 14 - 19

NOTE: Pastor Mike will be directing CYF I camp this year, and Alan Reinhold and Heather Blume are counseling as well. Go to the regional website (there is a link from our church site) or call the office today for more details.

Memorial Sunday

On Sunday, May 25, as part of our morning worship, we will honor those members of our congregation who have died between Memorial Day 2007, and Memorial Day 2008. We will also be remembering those in the military, and those near and dear to us, who have died, and who are still missed in our lives.

Pentecost Birthday Cake – Wear Red!!

On Sunday, May 11, we will celebrate the birth of the church on Pentecost. Following our services we will have a reception with a birthday cake to commemorate the occasion. Plan now to be with us on this special Sunday and WEAR RED to help remember the beginning of the church with the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Summer Sermon Series

Once again, by popular demand, Pastor Mike is inviting YOU to come up with topics and suggestions for his preaching this summer. Perhaps there is a favorite old Bible story, or topic of interest you want to hear a sermon about. This is your chance! During the summer (starting June 1, and going through August 31) Pastor Mike is inviting YOU to pick the sermon topic or scripture.

Place your sermon ideas in the HOT pink “Summer Sermon Series” suggestions box located on the greeters table at the entrance to the narthex. Maybe he will get to yours before the summer is over.

Summer Schedule begins in June

Starting on Sunday, June 1, we will move to our Summer Schedule for Sunday mornings. There will be NO Sunday School, and worship will begin at 10:00 AM every Sunday. This schedule runs through August 31. On September 7 we will have our Fall Kick-Off Celebration, with a return to our normal schedule: Sunday School at 9:30 and Worship at 10:45.
